Earthworks is Hiring a Diesel Equipment Technician Near Chesterfield, MO

Earthworks Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of natural stone and masonry products, has an immediate opening for a Diesel Equipment Technician at our facility in Ste. Genevieve, MO.

Experience in diagnostics and repair, including Diesel engines, electrical, suspension, steering, air brakes, and hydraulics of quarry/heavy construction equipment is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy equipment in a field of heavy construction, mining, and/or related industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in electrical, drive train, engine, and hydraulics.
  • History of working with different forms of heavy equipment (forklifts, tractors, wheel loaders, material handlers).
  • Knowledge and experience with diesel engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Perform maintenance for industrial machines and equipment through accurate equipment inspections, using a specific equipment checklist.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Ability to work well with and communicate with others.
  • Minimum 40 hours a week year-round.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
